Candy Shopping

I finally went shopping for some Halloween candy and decorations on Friday. I don't usually decorate but there are so many kids living on this street that go to the school where I work that my hubby convinced me to decorate the front porch. I just moved the patio bench to the front porch and sat two scare crows on each side then sat a huge plastic pumpkin next to the bench. I know it's not much but believe me that's more than what I do on any Halloween. I did decorate when my boys were young but now that there are no more kiddos in the house I no longer do. When the neighborhood kids get off the bus they actually stop in front of my house in the middle of the street, and call out for me. Those crazy kids. They're stalking me. LOL! I didn't do much quilting at all yesterday but will today for sure. I'm beginning to get impatient with my quilting. My son, Chris, just informed me that he will be done with studying on the 18th of December and will be coming home for the holidays on the 19th, his birthday. He will be home for 3 weeks and I'm so happy. I'm glad he'll be home for his BD and Christmas. My son in CA isn't sure if he'll be able to get away from work. I really miss that boy. He hasn't been home for Christmas in two years.

Hey that's more decorating than what I did. I did buy some candy for the few trick-or-treaters we will get. This will be our first halloween in this house so we have no idea.

Also, I have misplaced my sheet that gives the cuts for each fat quarter in a turning twenty and I know you did one. If you happen to have those handy could I bother you for them?

I decorated inside for when the grandkids come, but not outside. I'm glad your son will be home for his bd, mine hasn't been in 4 years. He is a Marine and spent one in boot camp, one in Iraq, one cleaning up after Hurricanes Katrina and Rita, and this last one in a friendlier Arab country.

I just put up a metal pumpkin on the outside wall next to the door. I bought a bag of M&Ms and of course 1/2 of them are gone already.

I too don't really decorate now that my DS is older... I do still hunt out a witches hat to wear while I hand out the candy but that's the limits of my investment....

Inch by inch, you'll get your star quilt quilted. I like how it is turning out and I am sure your son will like it as well.

This is the first year our youngest son will not be home for Christmas, our oldest son hasn't been home for Christmas since getting married 6 years ago. We spend Christmas Eve and Christmas Day night with our kids here in town.

I didn't decorate at all. The neighborhood kids must really like you to call you when they get home. That would be hard not to spend holiday time with all of your kids. Mine is going away to college next year so I know my turn is next.
