I have been quilting for 25 years. It all started when I was pregnant with my first son. I was just determined to make him a baby quilt one way or another. There weren't many quilter's where I lived at the time so I pretty much had to teach myself through trial and error and maybe one or two books that I bought. After quilting for so long I tend to do my own thing now. I always have more than one project in the works so I must have some form of ADD. I must confess,I am not crazy about paper piecing,I feel like I am wasting too much fabric so I stick to machine piecing and hand applique. I hand quilt most of the quilts that I make unless it's a baby quilt. Every time I have machine quilted it felt like I was wrestling with the quilt so I avoid it at all costs. Reading and gardening are two more things I really like doing and are a big part of my life. My favorite books to read are mysteries, self help books, garden books, autobiographies, and fiction. I'm always reading more than one book at a time, and now I listen to audio books which I really enjoy. I listen to those when I quilt.
